The explosion of the hotel industry in the last century has resulted in a choice of several different classificiations of hotel rooms. It is important to understand this difference when booking a room.

Different types of hotel rooms include suites. A suite generally has more than one room. It will have a living room separate from the bedroom. Often a small kitchen area is included in the suite. Some hotels refer to apartment rooms and family rooms. These are usually similar to suites. A family room would generally have two bedrooms. As hotels have been growing larger and becoming tourist destinations in their own right, different types of hotel rooms have been designed ranging from "honeymoon" suites which generally follow a romantic theme to family rooms that contain a nursery separate from the main bedroom. Most hotels are very clear about exactly what is included in their rooms when quoting prices, but if you are ever in doubt be sure to inquire as to just what is included in your room.

In 2004, when Martyn Colbeck and Cynthia Moss were filming 'Echo of the Elephants 3', Martyn asked me do so some flying for the film. He asked if they could give me something for my time, and I said, no, just cut me a DVD of some of the shots. Well, he did much more than that: he got the the producing company, Mike Birkhead Associates, to edit this lovely little montage. They even added the aerial theme music from the film Out of Africa. I'm hugely grateful to Martyn and Mike: I'm now some kind of aviation hero to my kids and grandkids. The sequence, as Colin Davies, owner of Hotel-Zulu, the Cesnna 206, put it, "brought tears to the eyes" of a group of crusty Kenya bush pilots at dinner one night at his house. Enjoy the flight!
